چکیده

The purpose of this study was to examine movement sequencing and the contributions of the motions of individual segments to the velocity of the foot during rugby kicking through a novel velocity decomposition method. Seven experienced male players participated in this study and kinematic data from each participant were recorded. The linear velocity of the kicking foot was decomposed to the linear velocities caused by the absolute linear velocity of the pelvis, rotation of the pelvis, rotation of the thigh and flexion/extension of the knee. The results show that a proximal-to-distal sequential pattern of segment motions and knee flexion/extension made the major contribution (75 ± 8%) to the final velocity during rugby kicking, followed in turn by hip flexion, pelvis velocity and pelvis rotation.

Comparison of selected biomechanical parameters and support foot injury during soccer instep kick by preferred and non-preferred lower limbs of the novice players

Support foot position is one of the important factors which can affect instep kick quality and ankle joint injury. The aims of this study were to examine the support foot parameters in maximal instep kicking with the preferred and the non-preferred leg and research on risk factors for ankle joint injury in amateur futsal players. In this semi experimental study, twelve young and novice futsal p...

The Application of an Exploratory Factor Analysis to Investigate the Inter-Relationships amongst Joint Movement During Performance of a Football Skill.

Many studies have investigated the kinematics of sports skills with the majority describing the kinematics of the technique or investigating significant kinematic variables that affect performance. Many sports skills are complex three-dimensional movements involving many joints. However, few studies have investigated the relationships between kinematic variables during performance of such skill...

Biomechanical responses of thigh and lower leg during 10 consecutive soccer instep kicks.

This study investigated the number of trials necessary to obtain optimal biomechanical responses in 10 consecutive soccer instep kicks. The kicking motions of dominant legs were captured from 5 experienced and skilled adult male soccer players (height: 184.60 ± 4.49 cm; mass: 80 ± 4.24 kg; and age: 25.60 ± 1.14 years) using a 3D infrared high-speed camera at 200 Hz. Some of the important kinema...

Compare sequence of joint motion and muscle electromyography between low drive and high drive soccer instep kick

The purpose of this study was to examine the difference between two types of the soccer instep kick in temporal sequence of motion and muscle electromyography, during forward swing phase of the kick. Ten elite soccer players, volunteered as subjects in the study. To culculate the kinematics data, we used DLT method with two video camera that filmed five markers fixed on anatomical points o...

Range of motion of body segments is larger during the maximal instep kick than during the submaximal kick in experienced football players.

BACKGROUND Football players with groin injury refrain from maximal kicking. Previous groin injury is related to decreased hip range of motion (ROM). Information on ROM differences between maximal and submaximal kicking within players is lacking. The first aim of this study is to quantify ROM of body segments during the maximal (MaxK) and submaximal (SubK) instep kick at four key points. The sec...
